From a non-emotional scientific perspective, I read some study where they showed women a bunch of male facial types and asked them to divide them into quicky vs.marry groups, and the big-jawed hairy types (higher testosterone) always went into the quicky.
I'd interpret that as Betty wanting a baby by Bruno and a home by Basil.
I think some U.S. women view the world as occupied only by other women and the family is their business and they are the CEO.
This is represented by the female-competition thing(who has most most shoes/attention of buyers, looks best, has style,etc...).
The worker(man) has to be managed for her version of peak efficiency even if he is already exceding his own (often low)standards and is often replacable(especially in the US where the 60%divorce rate is not cultural shamed as failure). The worker must apply for the job with references from friends or institutions to provide a level of saftey, or may face random macings. The worker must maintain a level of emotional openness by discussing his every intention and be attentive to the CEOs needs. This will be watched closely. It is good to keep current applications of backup workers with a network of "male friends" and associates, but in a pinch they can be stolen from a married girlfriend.
The CEOs vacation/pleasure time is usually one of her choosing and often the worker must work overtime because of his substandard skills. This is often a tradeoff for having a dedicated worker and is often a point of contention.
Sorry 'bout the above view ladies. There are lots of good, harmonized couples out there I respect, and a whole lot of unecessarily subsevient women I feel sorry for, but the queeny self-image still seems to dominant in a lot of places.
I still don't understand the "tame the wild stallion and bring him home" mentality that some women stick to. A horse is a horse...
