Oh, what the heck.
By day, mild-mannered computer programmer. I do Cockpit Graphics for a NASA flight simulator.
Pluses: Neat work. Airplanes and pictures and computers? Oh my!! Plus some people are easily impressed by the "I work for NASA" schtick.
Minuses: Red tape. That, and I've been doing the same job for 13+ years, so it's gotten a bit boring. And I almost get paid enough to earn a decent living. Can't afford a house in the SF Bay Area, though.
By night, 914 action hero!
Pluses: Up to my eyeballs in 914 information. Comes in handy for Tech Quizzes and things like that. I get to help people sometimes. I get to feel like a big shot. And, of course, I get the
*****in' employee discount!
Minuses: The pay--I think all of my pay has gone into parts from Pelican! The time--I don't have hardly any time to actually work on my own car!! And the perpetually-incipient carpal tunnel from always being on the computer.
