I have heard, and it is also the advice i followed when I replaced the o rings and hats this summer, was first put some automatic transmission fluid on the orings as it will help them slide into the rail and the manifold easier. Not sure why atf as opposed to oil. I put them in the rail first, and then set the rail in place on the intake manifold and just attached the bolts that attach the rail making sure that the injectors line up whith the hole in the manifold as i tightened down the rail.
