It's simply a belief different than your own.
I happen to think they are rather funny.
On the one hand you say you don't understand it but on the other hand you are certain of what it implies. Is that not a major contradiction? If you don't understand it how can you be so certain of it's intended message?
Maybe the next time you see one ask the person, "what's up with that" you'll either learn some new insight into or have your suspicions confirmed.
