Argeo, the 4300 is a "last year's" model, the new ones in that size are the 4100 and 4200.
Digital cameras are alot like PCs, every year something newer and faster comes out in the same price range. What you get is a higher MP count per dollar and improved imaging sensor and lower lag time; the lag time is the biggest annoyance with digicams.
Take a look at all the models that you are interested in at the MFG's websites to compare features, the look at the reviews.
Keep in mind that unless this is an X-mas present, electronics usually are big after Christmas items for sale prices.
