IIRC - my '85 has one wire in the center laminated into the windshield, and it goes off to the passenger side top. But I don't have the car at work today to be sure. Looking through the winshield in this area in the center the lines are straight.
If you look at an aftermarket windhield and some vertical lines you can clearly see the lines bend where the windshield bends.
