For all practical purposes, yes (unless you want a properly tuned 5ft. whip antenna bolted to your fender ). IMO, a windshield antenna with a properly functioning booster is hard to beat. Great reception, no ugly external antenna to deal with, and another potential mechanical failure removed in the case of a powered antenna. Of course it depends on the quality of your head unit's tuner as well. You might be able to extract a bit more "performance" by using a stronger after-market booster if it is still not pulling stations in from overseas .
