American Chopper? Watch those guys and see how long it takes to build a new bike. Plus, a bike is much less complicated and it takes them days or a week.

All about getting viewers and "wow-ing" the guys.

I haven't seen overhauling, but at the last car show there was a product of Monster Garage. (An episode I didn't see...) It was a pick up truck that they cut out half the cab and bed and installed this motorcycle on some kind of cantalever system - James Bondesque.

Up close, it looked like *****. I have heard similar about all those shows.
