Picked up a 1986 951 out of Florida the other day ($1500.00) with a "locked" motor. It arrived at my house and I started tearing it down. I got the head off in short order and found

1. Trashed Injectors and brittle wiring harness
2. #2 Piston has ruined its cylinder wall
3. Exhaust and turbo full of antifreeze


She is in sad shape so I am going to begin her restore at once. Doesnt look like the block will be usable the number 2 cylinder is pretty torn up. I guess Ill find a block and build it up. It was strange some of the cylinder head nuts were so loose I unscrewed them with my fingers, never seen that before. The head seems to be ok but Ill send it off to Lindsey Racing with the crank and oil pan to get it checked and tricked out.

Everything else looks like you would expect a poor;ly maintaned 1986 951 to look like but the body is very straight and the car is complete.

I will get some pictures posted for anyone who wants to follow my progress, sure if fun to get started on one again.
