Red, your right, my idea of how extreme drunks should be handled is that indead, extreme.
Drunk was wrong: Thank you.
Perhaps the cop was inline: Thank you.
Lazy man's way: The cop did try to restrain the suspect (that was the part in the video when they both went out of camera). Adrenaline can be very powerful, size does not always matter. The problem with wressling a suspect (you would know this if you were a cop) is that you have weapons that they might get their hands on. No matter how trained you were at the bar, if you had a knife, billy club, side arm, or tazer, those 3x larger individuals who you alegidly threw out of a bar could grab it and use it against you. But, you didn't have any of those weapons, so it wasn't an issue.
I think the main point thats getting over looked is that either a sober kid playing a video game or an accused drunk who COOPERATES with the officer is NOT going to get his ass tazered. Period, end of story.
I think its funny that the guy, who must be in extreme amounts of pain, is still resisting arrest. Thats the funny part. This guy is soooo waisted he keeps going... regardless of pain. Me, i'd be scared *****less. If the guy didn't do anything wrong, then sure, this would be a sickening situation. BUT THE GUY RESISTED ARREST SEVERAL TIMES, AND THE COP WAS
VERY PATIENT up untill the tazering. Thats well over a minute worth of trying to get this guy to cooperate.
Regarless how our society works, drinking and driving is against the law. Red, if it would have taken you 10 minutes to get this same guy out of your bar, its still not the same. When he was in your bar he wasn't doing anything illegal, and once he's outside of your bar, he has not done anything illegal. Its the point that he got behind the wheel of an automobile. He took that chance, nobody else! Just like he took the chance to challage the officer, nobody forced him to make up his mind. The guy was still trying to get up after the 4th tazering... convince me that this guy was going to cooperate and was a sain, non drugged individual. You can hear his plastered tone in the recording.
Honestly, when was the last time you told the officer who pulled you over to "F@ck off". Try it next time, see how far it gets you. Then resist arrest, see how far that gets you.
