A while back I posted a query on how or even if it was possible to resurrect expired black plates in California. The plate in question is on a '64 356 that was last registered in '78.
Long story short is that it can be done. My oldest daughter Danielle (sometimes lurking here) manages the DMV paper at a Mercedes dealership here in the valley. With the appropriate paperwork and some kind of DMV VooDoo and $93.00 cash she's brought the registration current and we've been able to keep the plates.
And the current pink slip w/plate number.
Needless to say this papa's very proud of his girl.
