No brakes??
After sitting for about two months, I finally got the car back together last night enough to start it up and run it up and down the driveway (in 1st gear) a few times. To my surprise, every time I went to stop the brake pedal sank all the way to the floor with no noticeable effect. I pumped it a few times and got pressure back, and the car stopped very slowly. Looking at the rear discs, it looks like the pads weren't even impacting, since there was no place where the rust had worn off. I HAVE been working on the front left wheel assembly, took the spindle off for a while, but I put everything back on, and to the best of my knowledge, correctly. I didn't bleed the brakes for this, instead I just used the coat hanger trick. I have SS brake lines, too. I checked the driveway for brake fluid, nothing there. Checked the reservoir, no noticeable drop in the fluid level. What's going on?
