I would double check and bleed them again using the conventional two person method. It sounds like air in the lines.
Where in NOVA are you? my parents live in alexandria. Car sounds like it would be crazy with that S2 motor in an early chasis. Did you have to modify the firewall any to get it to fit? How was the wiring?
