He isn't a poor sod, he is an idiot. Any pain he received was
entirely his doing. Sometimes being stupid hurts. That being said, there are many much more entertaining videos out there.
Personally, I find videos of idiots causing themselves pain (directly or indirectly) a fricking riot. Seeing a moron intentionally do something stupid and hurt themselves is entertainment at it's finest.
These are not accidents, these are not victims, they are assclowns, purposely doing what assclowns do, and running tape to save their assclownery for posterity.
Here are a few examples,
Idiot bodyslaming (willing) moron off a roof.

Dumbass picks a fight with the wrong woman
Moron fills a melon with gas, ignites it and hits it with a bat.
Rocket scientist on bicycle towed behind a van tries to jump to roof of 2 story building
Brain surgeon tries to rollerblade off a roof.
Einstein sticks his head in a gator's mouth
Any of hundreds of videos of sportbike riding squids doing wheelies/stoppies/stupid **** on public roads and crashing,
like this one.
No video, but honerable mention goes to the guy who stuck a monster bottle-rocket between his butt-cheeks and lit the fuse. Luckily for us, his friends had a digital camera.
