I don't know if it was insured or not (I haven't contacted Pelican yet), but this is the first time PP has used FedEx (instead of UPS) for me...I'm NOT impressed (and never have been with FedEx).
ps: It's not a huge order ($), but I'm waiting on the parts so I can finish building my pelican
