86 Carrera brake problems!
Over the weekend, I replaced the pads for the 1st time on my 86 911. Prior to replacement they felt fine but they were getting
down to the sensors so I replaced them. Anyway, after putting the new pads in, my pedal travel has increased around 20-30% and
the pedal feels very spongy as if there is air in the system. However, I never even touched a hose or anything that could allow air
to enter..A subsequent bleeding of the brakes made no change whatsoever. Also, the pedal feels fine with the car off but sinks
immediately after starting. Could this be a booster problem? Anyone have a similar problem before? I inspected the callipers and
master cyl after a short drive and there is no obvious sign of leakage...and the reservoir stays full. The car appears to brake fine, but
just with much increased travel and more pressure required than normal. Any ideas are appreciated...Thanks!
