Lee, A couple of suggestions: 1. If you don't already have a Haynes 911 manual, get one! 2. Get a couple of specialized books (non-Porsche) on the CIS system and troubleshooting same! 3. Find a used microfiche viewer at an office or junk store or pawn shop, and get the '72-'83 911 service manuals on 'fiche from Pelican for $35.

As for the description of your car's problem, there are TWO DISTINCT, different problems! One is a warm-up problem, the other is a cold-start problem, which I can tell you, is related to either: 1. the thermo-time switch, or 2. the cold-start solenoid/valve ... those are the only components involved!!! For the warm-up problem ... read the books and/or service manual!!!
