It's been made clear *officially* already that the go-ahead had been given to shoot down flight 93.
I think the truth is coming out in small doses, as it often does. On 9/12/2001, there were BBC reports that engine parts came down 6 mies from the crash site. It was my assumption at that time that it was a shoot-down, but that the government really needed the 'heroes of flight 93' story in the media.
