1st, read the threads on Clarks garage website. Lots of good suggestions. Second, have your shop use an infra red temerature gauge to check the temp. This will tell you if something is really wrong, or if you have a bad guage or electrical connection. Since you are getting high temp oil pressure drop, maybe it is actually getting hot. Your shop can also do a "leak down" test to see if you have a blown head gasket

Check the leads on the oil pressure sending unit. They are relatively easy to get to, and if they get corroded, they will give you an off reading. Make sure they are tight when you are done.

If you replaced the thermostat, did you bleed all of the air out of the system? This can be a real bear. I made a tool by drilling out a bolt that fit into the bleeder at the top of the housing, and attaching a piece of clear hose. You would be VERY surprised how much air is in the system. Check Clarks Garage bulletin board for advice on how to make sure all of the air is purged from the system.

A few other things to think about:

1. What kind of oil are you using?
2. What kind of filter are you using? I stick to Mahle now. Fram and others are of poor quality.
3. Are you sure the system is full of cooant and not air?
4. Do you have the right temperature thermostat and thermoswitch?
5. Is the cooling system clogged?
6. Is there water in the oil, or oil in the water? (check for "milkshake" on the dipstick - tell tale oil-cooler seal problem)

Good luck...
