toolboy62: My little brother has a A4 1.8T with a Garrett T28 turbo. The car is stupid-fast. He has some trouble keeping it running correctly, and there is quite a bit more turbo lag than stock (I think - I haven't driven many turbocharged cars).
I have never driven a 951, but from what I hear, the lag sounds about the same as my brother's A4.
MikeP944: I vote for the S4. I like the look, and (like you said) with some light modifications they can be ridiculous-fast. The quattro AWD is great in the snow too. A B5 S4 may be my next car.
