Very cool, Ed. This reminds me of a show that was running years ago on Discovery or one of those kinds of channels. This very footage may even have been used in the show. They had given the large male lion a really cool name in the local dialect that translated essentially as "he who greets with fire". The gist of it was the hyenas showed up every time his pride made a kill, as is often the case. The hyenas would harass the lionesses until "he who greets with fire" came along and kicked some serious hyena a$$. This is a scenario that plays out day after day with these fellows. As a hard core hunter and one who is absolutely in awe of these animals, I have to thank you for posting this. It made my day.
