I'm not sure history supports that Marine training made any difference in any but one of the events you mention. The Bell tower guy employed his training well. This poor kid here, though, did not. For all the shots he fired he didn't hit with very many. Most shooters I hang with would have done much better, and most don't have military training. These guys are absolutely the best at what they do when working together as a unit, but a single Marine, that is distraught and not thinking clearly, is no more dangerous than another man under the same circumstances. They are not endowed with some magic ninja like powers. Great discipline, but this kid kind of lost that.
