Yes, I read about that awhile ago in the Haynes manual, but because I've not installed the thermostat since some time ago, I could not recall the tightness of the fit.

I still would like to know if one of the staggard "slots" can be seen through the oil cooler hole when the cooler is off, as I have my cooler off and this would make nice double confirmation.
