Red posted from an extremist viewpoint that seemed to rile people of the opposing view quite a bit, but 'the other side' has it's own adherents who do the same thing. What I find funniest (in a haha way) is how his view on extra-terrestrials was beaten down by some here. A lot of those folks who derided him for being a wacko on this point are the same ones who also post about how jesus is the son of god etc. As far as I can tell there's no more proof of the claims of religeous adherents than there is of the presence of extra-terrestrials. How can one be so 'open-minded' to the existence of one unprovable and not to the other.
I don't know for sure but it always seemed to me that he was using a 'belief' in ETs as a counter point to the belief in the 'word of god'. Kinda like saying "I'll see your crazy and match it with this one. Now you know how you look to me." It seemed to go hand-in-hand with his political counterpoints to the right, here.
Maybe, in his own strange way, he was trying to help us all be better, more thoughtful members of the community, to possibly consider an alternate point of view. Was he a little too subtle (

) for some here? Sometimes once you've found the extremes you find that the truth actually exists somewhere in the middle.
In the immortal words of Jacques Villeneuve: "It's a big world out there. You have to see a little farther than your nose."
