Well I'm not a gun type of guy but I've shot couple thousand of rounds with Glock 17 and I find it pretty good.

Our military did extensive tests on both Glock and Sig (and Beretta, I think) and found Glock better (as more reliable and safer). Tests were very tough...like throwing guns from helicopter, draging them trough mud, firing tens of thousands of rounds w/o cleaning...and it was the best gun around.

Police opted for Sig for some reason and had nothing but trouble (breached pipes, all kind of jams). some of problems were probably caused by using Uzi ammo.

If I ever needed a gun, (which I fortunately don't) I would chose Glock. It's fool-proof, except for that damn little trigger-spring that some bean-counter b****rd at Glock probably designed to break after a while just to charge for service.
