I just spent a miserable 2 weeks in Minnesota, I was sick w/ a flu that i could not shake, (the kind where you shiver in 80deg. weather, but it was -10 below outside, good times....), it can be beautiful there when it snows but this time it was just cold, brown and awful. Freezing rain had left the ground feeling like ball bearings w/ Slick 50 added in places, I lasted less than 24 hours before my head bounced off the concrete. I'd wait around all day until it was time to go to the club and sit in a sauna w/ a bunch of hairy old dudes sniffling and blowing their noses. God, I love that place.
It's freakishly beautiful in SoCal right now the way only a major storm can cause, everything washed clean and visibilty that seems like 1000 miles. I swear that you can read a street sign from 2 blocks away. 80 degrees outside, warm sun on the skin w/ no bugs or humidity and a slight breeze. And that's downtown, not the beach. Even when it was raining it was paradise compared to the midwest, but then I don't live where mudslides affect me. (5th floor of a 1929 Deco building in the center city).
