yes and no.
In 1972 the 911 stopped using the 901 tranny (stock on all 914's with a different rear cover) and went with the 915 unit.
The bolt pattern is the same, however you'd need to do some work to get it to work correctly in a 914. Namely flipping the ring and pinion. Otherwise, you'd have 5 reverse gears and 1 forward gear. You'd also need to figure out how to rig up a shift linkage as the transmission is the other way around in a 911.
I'm not exactly sure, but I also dont believe the stock 914 flywheel, clutch and starter will work either.
If it's for a 914 you're really better off finding a stock 914 tranny. Plenty of them out there. The amount of time and money to adapt a 915 isnt worth it.
