Since bush took over the office they have been chained off from the rest of the crowd at public appearences- out of view of the TV cameras. Then if the crowd was really large they were trucked off to detention centers and jails without any charges being made. I'm not making this up, it's been going on for four years - read the paper once in a while.
What ever happened to peacefully protesting indeed.
