The way they rush things on these shows (Overhaulin', Trading Spaces, etc.), they must absolutely have to cut corners on stuff. I bet these rooms and cars are really disasters underneath that shiny paint...
They way they toss these interiors and stereo/video systems in these cars at the last possible second on Overhaulin' seems like a receipe for disaster in the long term... I've done quite a few systems in cars over the years and if you want a solid system that's wired correctly, tucked away neatly and not just hacked in (and have an install to be proud of) takes quite a bit of time. Many times you see the interiors guys b*tching and itching to get at the car so they can do their thing. These guys always seem to get the shaft as far as not having enough time to get things in place.
Sometimes they barely get these cars running before the final reveal to the poor sap who's car got 'stolen'.
