A similar incident happened here in Georgia a year or two ago. That time, it was a much older guy, I believe in his eighties who pulled out his shotgun and killed the POS would-be assailant. No charges were filed against the store owner.
A local radio station actually bought the guy a brand new shotgun after the incident.
