Presbyopia (old fart reading glasses syndrome) is an inevitability for most of us. It starts around age 40.
To focus on fine print, the small muscles in the eye pull hard and actually bend the lens, allowing good focus. As we age, the lens becomes stiff and won't flex as easily. You can trick the eye by reading in bright light or outdoors. This will constrict the pupil and focus the incoming light more precisely.
As for a cure, you are probably S.O.L. There are those that recomment "ocular exercises", but there are no good documented results. Vitamins and diet won't change a thing.
I'm typing this without my reading glasses so I have no idea if there are any typo's!
