Had to chime in. Been driving performance cars all my 27 years, mostly of the American muscular variety. I have always wanted a 911 since I saw my buddies race car. I was never a huge fan just respected a well built/engineered car. I too thought most of the owners were NOT like my friend or me for that matter. Snobby rich folks that drive Porsches because their daddies could and did. I'm over in Europe right now and found a US spec 87 Targa I could take home and finally became a member of the club. I'm hooked. These things give me the same feeling I had screwing around with those racing go-carts as a real young kid... nimble, surprisingly quick, effortless acceleration, lots of street confidnce. What a wonderful car. I do all, well 98% of all my own work. I was scared when I bought my car thinking I would have been lost. Things tend to go bad quick for me They did too, but with the help of the net and folks like you I have been plugging away and very happy. I also see the snobby Boxter (read, not all just many) drivers and watch them look down their noses at me. Oh well, I'm a poor kid who loves cars, and I got the best Porsche I could afford. Sometimes I feel embarassed to take my car to shows and meets because it is not perfect or a $100,000 turbo. I don't dream about rich guys coming and saving me, but I work hard and fix what I can with what I got. For those of you with perfect concourse cars and $100,000 turbos... I don't hate you. But don't hate me cause I like this car. Don't worry I'm not moving in on your exclusive little clubs. You can keep all that polo and raw food and yachts with the funny caps
