Thank you. I certainly respect what Everett has accomplished, and with the moderating team he now has, I think the little tweaks and improvements will happen even faster.
In my opinion, the only two areas where The Samba needs improvement in the short term are: (1) an expansion of the "fyi" stickies which provide helpful info and links, and (2) a policy which limits the size of pictures that people can post, as anything wider than 640 pixels will result in posts going well off-screen to the right. That's just a minor thing, perhaps, but it can be annoying.
The Samba is a beautiful website, no doubt about it.
Pelican.. well, in my experience it doesn't seem to need improvement. I bought my Porsche from their "cars for sale" section, and have used their many helpful tech/fyi articles, and their forums have usually proven satisfactory. But Pelican has been a learning experience in many ways.
Question: why do you post so infrequently? With your depth of knowledge and experience, surely there is a reason for this seeming quietude?
