There is a stock battery cover. Doesn't fit after market batteries so it gets tossed. Best to use a good spray on the terminals to protect them.

A battery matt will not let the battery lock into the retaining brackets. That is IF you still have brackets. You need to remove the battery, wire brush the area to find the leak and then seal it.

There are a few after market epoxy like body sealers. Have to search this forum for the info.
