I couldn't disagree with you more and I'm prone to believe you are a rather shallow person for whom life has been pretty smooth. I have had 3 family members and one friend commit suicide and I agree with their choice. One was my father. They were all very ill and not expected to live spare my brother in law. He was in a different kind of pain.
Oh, and you're not the first to express that position. It's not even an original thought. (Read again my comment about shallow.)
There's more to any and all of this, but that's all you're going to read here from me.

Shallow?
When have you visited me and had dinner or spent some time getting to know me? You know nothing of my past ( no one on this board does, for that mater ). The suicide
s I've been touched by were performed by cowards. People that chose NOT to deal with life's adversities and took the easy way out. That's the way most suicides are. The one's left behind are racked with guilt and feelings of missed opportunities or signs.
And you're not the lone beacon of pain when it comes to loss of family to long, miserable deaths. I have 6 under my belt (seems almost morbid to say it that way). None of them even hinted at checking out early. Their strength throughout its course is a lesson I learned and carry with me.
Oh, another thing, I work in diagnostic imaging and see brain tumors and other illnesses every single day. Come spend a week with me and then tell me how smooth my life is.
I believe you, sir, are the one enjoying a smooth life. One where you can simply push the off button when things get tough. Must be nice.
I dislike getting involved in heated discussions here because so much can be lost in communication. I would like to meet you Milt, and share what life has dealt. There's room for discussion with me as well.
