Mike - Do you have to put car seats in the back or front to hold those kids?

Here in the good old people's republic of CA kids have to be in a car seat until they are 6 AND 60 pounds. Infants of course have to be a rear facing car seat. As of this year if there is a backseat at all kids *MUST* be in it. Of course there is no way I can fit a rear facing car seat in the back of the 911 so I called the police station locally here and they said I had an out - the car seat not fitting back there was as good as there not being a seat back there. Stupidest laws ever I think. Soon enough all kids will have to be brought up in rubber padded rooms. It's for their own good.

Anyway - I have an infant - he's just over two months old. He hasn't spend much time in the porsche but I have put him in the front passenger seat in his car seat facing backwards on occasion. Our other car is an Xterra so there is no problem there. We just make sure that whom ever has the baby also has the proper auto. Hope you don't have a problem with your Wife driving the Porsche. I don't - we're in this together and that car is hers as well. She doesn't seem to think that we need another car but I do simply because I don't want to worry about it. The reality is though we probably don't need it. Once the kid is old enough to turn around the other car seat should fit in the back though I haven't test it. The problem isn't really the seat but the belts back there were too long and couldn't be tightened around the seat.
