Hi,

I'm the guy who did the testing in the first referenced thread and I just wanted to clarify the results. In my testing the stock airbox did not make more ABSOLUTE power, but rather it made more power from about 3,000 rpm to 6,600 rpm. If I were trying to get the utmost power out of my stock motor (ie not running hotter cams, bigger ports, and a higher redline) I would stick with the stock airbox. HOWEVER, the open venturies did make more power than the stock airbox starting at 6,600 rpm and do make a higher peak HP number.

Now, if you are not trying to squeeze every last HP out of your car I would recommend you try the K&N filters. While you loose a few HP though much of the normal operating range when compared to the stock airbox, you gain a wonderful intake howl that is a joy to live with. The sound alone makes the car feel faster and more fun to drive.
