Lambda/oxygen sensor
I just replaced my 2.7 with an 81 3.0. I have SSIs with no connector for the Lambda sensor. The mechanic that installed the new motor said I didn't need the sensor. Others say I do.
I get a high speed miss on the track when the motor is hot, i.e., greater than 230. If it stays about 210 it runs great. Could the missing sensor be the cause. If so, where/how do I mount it? Currently, the plug from the "brain" is sitting inside the engine bay.
I had an MDS ignition on the 2.7. Would it help on the 3.0?
