Did you check the condition of the brake bands also? The shift forks were repositioned correctly ? Thats about all there is , you may try adjusting the rear coupler behind seats
Trans fluid does not matter as far as grinding gears , I just had my 1st gear dog tooth ,syncro, 2nd syncro and 3rd replaced and i am using standard gear oil and have no grinding at all
Also what condition is you clutch in? You may need an adjustment or new kit.
