When I change my oil in my Sc I add 12qts all at one time then usually it will take another 1/2 qt after driving for a few minutes, I would be more concerned with just adding a few qts and starting motor, there is a lot of piping and the coolers take a lot of oil it would seem to me you'd have the oil light flashing at you and potential for starvation
