I stopped in there on a business trip once, and it was worth while. Bought some stuff while I was there, but haven't ordered anything or gone back. While I was there Mike Yager walked through the museum and sales counter area and seemed nice enough. He gave me a funny look initially 'cuse I was hanging around like I wasn't a customer. Then he smiled and said hello. Of course there happened to be a cute girl waiting on me, and we were the only ones there...I guess that would make me wonder what was going on too if I were Yager.
I'd say the guy is a car guy (check out the museum and FunFest) and he does his share of keeping the hobby alive and strong. We can't fault the guy for wanting to make a living at it. And fluctuations in the US dollars make it hard to ensure the printed catalogs follow the trend.
Wayne has a nice online catalog that seems to be easier to update prices, and he also provides us a place to hang out. So we have some loyalties to Pelican, but we can't "diss" the other guys out there.
I think they are making strides to meet the demands of the most demanding customers. It's not a perfect world, and certainly it's not an easy world..retail.
