Huh? Seriously, you need to get out more and meet some more Christians. I'm assuming you're talking about all Christians since all of them are by definition "born again"??? If I misunderstood, let me know.
I know that there are some wackos in the Christian community, that give us a bad name. And, weird people make weird Christians, that's just a fact. But the idea that we're all homophobs, racist and general hatters is just insulting and shows a lack of any type of understanding. That ain't what it's about.
I totally disagree that mainstream modern Christians, as a rule, would react at all negatively if placed in this scenario.
