Greg, give me that number of the shop, NOW! SSI's are actually superior to the OE equipment on Porsche. The price is what determines why they are not included on new cars. The fit and finish are excellent, especially compared to many aftermarket exhaust component manufacturers. I am curious about that wholesale price. I would imagine a major supplier that you bought your SSI's off of would get the best price break by way of volume. I have never seen these for less then the price you got yours for. Perhaps your local vendor is trying to make you feel bad?
Generally, when a vendor is ordering something from a manufacturer, like my Recaro seat I just ordered, they have very little to do other than order and then either have it drop shipped or sent from their location. They may make $25 to $50 a seat, but for very little work other then being a dealer. I would bet the wholesale price on SSI's is $650 to $700 a set, so don't feel bad Greg.
