You can just drive the beater while you work on your 76. I have a 76 912E that's on jackstands also!
I just bought a 928S as a beater. It's a great idea. And it does have a calming effect on your Porsche withdrawal.
Also, when you see another Porsche owner on the street and you wave, he won't look at you like a wacko because you're driving the Jeep (like I used to get)
