Neil,

I have the book Hacking Tivo, both 1 & 2 and they come with the CD. I booted it using the cd and "approved" the drive but just not sure it worked right. I have a series 2 box so assuming that it has only one HD inside and wanted to add a 160 gig second drive.

Am VERY familiar with computers and the drive was formatted using NTFS (w2000) then did it using the CD so assume it was reformatted.

Did you backup your orginal drive first and if so how? Work OK?

Thanks for the help, need more room on my Tivo!
