Question about Flywheel Resurfacing

SORRY, I THOUGHT I WAS ON THE REGULAR BOARD...

I'm gonna put in a new clutch. I've got all the parts that I need but I still need to get the flywheel surfaced.

I was wondering if there is anything I should know before I head to the machine shop.

Also, Is there a difference in flywheels (i.e., 1.7, 1.8, & 2.0)? My engine is a 1.8 but I have a spare 1.7 in the garage and I just picked up a parts car that has a 1.8 (I think).

I was noticing that the teeth on my flywheel have some wear on the edges and so I thought I would take a look at the other flywheels and get the best one machined. But, I'm not sure if the timing marks are in different spots for the different size engines or wait a minute....isn't the timing mark on the fan? What's that mark on the flywheel for?

Any thoughts from you guys would be great...................Vern
