You use a VW knock control box, its wired between the coil and the MS system and retards the timing when it senses a knock, its a standalone kind of system. Also I might be wrong but I think MSnS (MegaSquirt'and'Spark) variation of the MS system can take the input from knock sensor and retard timing. My throttle body has the throttle possition sensor, i didnt know non-turbo didnt have them but my is non turbo and does, so thats weird/interesting. Ye there is no MAS because the system uses a MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Preassure)
