looked at a 73 914, not sure if it is good...help...

I have never owned a 914 and went to see one the other night. It is a 73 2.0. I used the buyers guide to check for rust and the only rust I could find (except minor surface rust) was some tiny pin holes to the right of the battery tray.
The floors, rockers, front and rear storage areas are solid.
What I am not sure about is the mechanics of the car. I drove it and had some trouble shifting into 4 and 5th, but the owner said he would adjust the bushings. The clutch did not engage until the pedal was almost fully released.
The body is scratched and there is bondo flaking of the front and rear deck lids and the entire car has been painted purple (the org. color was brown).
The interior is black and taken out of another 914.

The front and rear plastic bumpers have some holes in them.

He is asking $2800 for the car including clean front and rear deck lids from another car, stainless exhaust (new, not installed), plus other parts and books.

Is this a good price for this car? Or am I not giving enough information...help
