There is a product at automotive paint stores called 'paint cleaner' ... 3M and others make similar products, and it is intended for removing wax and silicones from paint, and I have found it also cleans rubber, too. It also removes a lot of the 'dead' and oxidized rubber from the surface rather aggresively, leaving lots of carbonblack on the rag or towel used, but it leaves the rubber uniform and free from waxes!
