It was most likely Dow Corning 111 that your Boeing engineer was using, but it does not sound very practical to apply or maintain such a 'coating' on all of the rubber parts of a car, and it would attract and collect a HELL of a lot of dirt, grass clippings, small insects, etc. to boot!!! Of course, said engineer probably had an endless supply of DC3, obtained with a three-finger discount! He sounds like a bit of an eccentric ...
